As a child, I was raised by several veterans: a grandfather, father, and uncle. Between the three of them, they served our country during portions of WWI, WWII, and the Korean War. As an adult, part of my nursing career in Oregon granted me the honor of working with cancer patients at the Portland VA Medical Center.
